Mohan Babu, Vishnu Manchu, Manchu Manoj New Telugu Film Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda Movie Review:

Manchu family starrer Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda, which has garnered a lot of positive buzz due to its ensemble cast, has released in theatres today (January 31). The movie, which seems to have been inspired from hit Bollywood movie Golmaal 3, is good commercial movie, which is high on entertainment quotient.

Story:

Naidu (Mohan Babu), tour guide and his former lover (Raveena Tandon) live in Thailand unknown to each other. Both are single parents now, Naidu is a father of three children (Manoj Manchu, Varun Sandesh and Tanish) and she mother of two children (Vishnu Manchu and Vennela Kishore). In the beginning both their children don't bond well and fight with each other. Honey (Hansika) brings Naidu and his former lover together and gets them married. Honey is also in love with Vijay (Vishnu). On other hand, a gang from India is searching for Honey (Hansika Motwani) and soon they find her in Bangkok. She is kidnapped and taken to India. How Naidu's family including five children land in India to bring back Honey forms the rest of the story.

Artists Performance:

This film totally belongs to three actors Mohan Babu, Manoj and Vishnu. Mohan Babu plays the role of Naidu that has different shades like a doting father and a strategist. And has two different get-ups: a tour guide (first half) and an astrologer (second half). Vishnu looks very good in action episodes and his chemistry with actress Hansika is nice. It’s Manoj Manchu steals the show with Mohini character in the second half. He plays a character that has three different dimensions - a conman, a lady and a cop. He has shown nice variations in these three characters. His portrayal of Mohini character is superb. Varun Sandesh does a character who has the knack of coming up with hatke one-liners. Tanish plays the role of a mute guy and is alright. Hansika Motwani adds glamor with her looks. Praneetha looks good as modern girl. Raveena Tandon is paired up with Mohan Babu and made a re-entry into Telugu after a huge gap. Brahmanandam is entertaining as Bapure - a Telugu language/culture lover. Vennela Kishore had less screen space, but does well. Supreet will get a break as comedian with this movie as his character is well written for entertainment in the second half. Dasari Narayana Rao did a cameo as Raveena Tandon’s father in flashback episode. Telangana Sakuntala is good though she acted in a couple of scenes. Rukesh Mukhi, Shravan, Giri Babu and others are adequate.

Technical and Other Departments:

Story of the film is divided into two parts. The first half story of the movie is inspired by Golmaal 3 film. But the writer has added another element in the story which leads us to the part in second half. The concept of getting inspired by Narthanasala movie and enacting 13th year of Pandava Vanavasam in Kaurava’s place in disguise is a novel idea. The comedy of errors that are generated due to the screenplay of Manoj doing two roles Mohini/Mohan adds up to it. The director who didn’t show his grip of narration in the first half managed to get things right in second half mainly due to a good screenplay technique.

Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda reviewOther departments: Dialogues written by Diamond Ratna are partly good. Music scored by Achu and Bappa Lahari is okay. Chinna has effectively used a few nice old songs in background music to help the situations. Cinematography by Palani Kumar is fine. Some of the action sequences composed by Manoj himself are good. Editing is alright. Producer Vishnu is concentrating more on entertainment aspects in his films which is turning out to be a right thing to do.

Movie Analysis:

First half of the film is okay. Second half has some nice entertaining moments. Plus points of the film are main leads, screenplay in second half and the lady get-up of Manoj Manchu. Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda is a kind of film that caters to everybody. With entertainment as it’s strength in the second half, the prospects of Pandavulu Pandavulu are good at box office.

Final View:

In Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda, there are few genuinely comic moments but rest are lowbrow. It is clearly aimed at mass audiences. Manoj and Brahmanandam provide comedy in the second half. Watch it for comedy.
